Counseling & Therapy for Life Transitions, Anxiety, and Change

Do you feel like something needs to change, but you’re not quite sure where to begin?

Maybe you’ve reached a point where you know something needs to change, but you’re not quite sure what or how to get there.

You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about what comes next. Perhaps you’re navigating college, starting a career, changing relationships, experiencing grief or loss, going through a major life transition, or simply trying to figure out who you are and what you want your life to look like.

You don’t need to have a diagnosis or a clear explanation for why you’re struggling. If something feels off, overwhelming, or difficult to navigate on your own, we can start there.

Support Through Life Transitions & Change

My career has allowed me to work with people across the lifespan, from elementary school through older adulthood. Over the years, I’ve found a particular connection with young adults, including those in upper high school and college, as well as adults navigating the many transitions and challenges that come with adulthood.

Life transitions can bring both opportunity and uncertainty. Whether you’re starting college, beginning a career, changing relationships, experiencing a loss, or simply questioning what comes next, change can leave you feeling unsettled or unsure of yourself.

Counseling can provide a place to slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and explore what you need as you move through this next chapter.

Counseling for Anxiety, Stress & Feeling Stuck

I believe counseling is not one-size-fits-all. Together, we’ll explore what brought you to counseling, build on your strengths and wisdom, and consider what you need to feel more grounded, empowered, and able to move through life with greater stability and ease.

You might be coming to counseling because you’re:

  • Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected
  • Navigating depression, grief, or loss
  • Adjusting to college, a new career, or another major life transition
  • Trying to figure out what you want or who you are
  • Struggling with relationships, communication, or boundaries
  • Feeling uncertain about the future or the direction of your life
  • Experiencing a change that has left you feeling unsettled
  • Functioning on the outside while feeling like you’re struggling on the inside
  • Simply knowing that something needs to change, even if you’re not sure what

A Place to Begin

You don’t have to arrive with everything figured out. Counseling can be a place to slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and better understand what you need.

Together, we can explore what may be contributing to feelings of anxiety, uncertainty, or being stuck, while making space for the emotions and experiences that come with change. Our work may help you develop greater self-understanding, identify what matters to you, and build practical skills and insight to navigate life with greater intention.

My hope is that through our work together, you’ll feel more grounded, understand yourself more deeply, recognize the strengths you already carry, and develop skills and insight you can take with you into everyday life.

These blog posts may give you a sense of what our work together might look like when navigating grief, life transitions, emotions, stress, and more.

Some Days Are Harder Than Others, and That’s Part of Healing

If you follow the news or spend time on social media, it’s hard not to get pulled into difficult stories, especially ones that stir up trauma you thought you had worked through. Working with Depression: Understanding It and Finding Support

If you or someone you love has experienced clinical depression, you know how painful and exhausting it can be. Sadness is a normal part of life, and moments of overwhelm can even lead to a sense of hopelessness,  but that’s very different from clinical depression. Clinical depression (known medically as Major Depressive Disorder) is more...

Moving Through Midlife

Every stage of life I work with teaches me something different. But midlife can be messy, magical, and often both at once.  This resonates with me personally right now as well. I want to take a moment to honor what I’m witnessing, in my clients and in myself: a season of change, loss, and hard...

“When I found Danelle, I was looking for someone who understood and appreciated this connection between our minds and bodies. And because the vulnerability was not something I was comfortable with, who would be open to using body movement to talk about deeper topics. We would talk first, then get into gentle movement, then when I was in a relaxed position, she would lead me through a mediation. I truly feel like I’m experiencing a deeper connection and a growing love for myself because I took this journey with my whole self.”
